AngelaSasser-artisan as it seemed relevant to my interests here.
Lately I've noticed a trend with my crafts getting all the attention, even over my main job (which is illustration). So in order to combat the crafts from taking over my 2D fan page, I've created a little niche in Facebook
just for them!
It will be my placeholder until I have the time to build a website dedicated to my leather crafts and jewelry. I really like the sound of 'Angelic Artisan'. It could be the beginning of a whole new sub-studio of
Angelic Shades (and perhaps less confusing for those people who think I sell window shades XD).
I'm also pondering getting into the wholesale orders business, but I'm not quite sure how to price for that yet. Do any of you fine folks have any advice? It could really be useful for me during this damnably slow and depressing job hunt I'm on. (More on that later)
Till next time, stay crafty, folks!
My friend did that with Hemp Jewellery I think, and i know how to do it with comics, but I'm not sure about such leathery things
I can ask my friend if she did that (she may have done consignment) if you want?
Well anyway, with our comics, if we were going to sell whole sale, we're going to either do something like -50% of retail profit (like if cost is 2$, retail is 4$ whole sale is 3$) or something close to that. So if you do offset printing that price can vary quite a bit for different sized orders because of the cost of offset printing going down for larger bulk orders and stuff. Print on demand is harder to give better discounts because there is no price breaks. Print on demand is what we have to do because we have no place to store boxes of comics and so we have to do smaller print runs
One of the cloudscape members Vanessa (cloudscape is the comic society here in Vancouver [link] ) did an awesome series of videos on how to make comics and the last part deal with wholesale and printing and distributors [link]
Hope that's somewhat helpful
HAHAH!
We're launching the Fairy tales Anthology sooner than we thought.
My list is growing so fast it's painful. I'm overwhelming myself, with studio space, and classrooms, and conventions. It's crazy HAHA!
Haa I still need to get to the end of Rapunzel! It's all thumbnailed out (and has been for awhile)...just haven't had time to sit and draw it! Laaame.
