She's escaping, or being rescued from, the flowers (emblematic of this world? of life before death?) without their pulling at her. I suspect that any degree of struggle between his guidance and that foliage would have subtly ruined the mood. Or a stronger "wind" than the gentle one you use here.
I'm not always fond of angels being shown with ambiguous sexuality, even in part, as his facial features (but not his musculature) suggest to me. Yet it works here, perhaps with the resonances between their faces, as to shape and mutual attention.
A gentle valediction, indeed. Thanks for taking such care with your title and your choice of a Donne epigraph. That attention is truly uncommon at any site such as this.

This fave is part of my "Do a Turnover of My Recent Favorites, with Comments, Catching Up on Overdue Recognition, as an Alternative to the Stupor Bowl" initiative. What better way to get a diversion from the Bread and Circuses spectacle? (It's certainly better than the much-vaunted commercials being shown this afternoon.)
