Queen of Broken Hearts II

EDIT 1: My printmaking teacher suggested more detail, so more detail there is! Lucky for me linoleum is TONS easier to cut into. Thinking about making this version available as a lithographic print as is instead of waiting for the finished lino print. Thinking about adding color to this one, but would that ruin the effect of it?

EDIT 2: It's amazing but somehow she was missing a finger on her hand AND the right corner knotting wasn't filled in! So..small, but influential, errors corrected. This will be the last edit. It should pop up on your devwatches onely ONE more time when I make it a print.


You drama queen, you'd cut out your own eyes and hold onto something beautiful long after it's withered through your fingers. You've sewn up your own wounds and sing of sorrow...but in the end you're just a queen revelling in her own sadness. Elegant...sad beauty....a waste of time...

My picture for Printmaking class which I plan to turn into a linoleum cutting. Bring on the madness that's going to ensue from carving out all those little details This is my first try at celtic knotted borders and I'm in love with them, so expect to see more. They do such a lovely job of filling up the page in a pretty, unlazy looking way. As for inspiration for this? Well...I've had this picture in my head for years now...I used to feel like this after a very tough issue I dealt with, that first broken heart.

There's nothing like being reminded of it...but thankfully, I've got other things to worry about now besides revelling in my own sadness. I'll probably rant about it on livejournal later if you really want to hear the angst I'll be uploading the printed edition of this probably within the next month.
