This piece was drawn in Photoshop CS6 with a Cintiq 12WX.

Back in 2006, I started a tradition of doing a Christmas card painting for my friends and family. I'm happy to bring you the line art for this year's card (there's still the colored version to come). This piece represents a culmination of the imagery of the past 6 years. I think she's my favorite of them all!

She's also the reboot of what I hope will be a new Art Nouveau inspired birthstone series! December, here, includes Narcissus as her flower and Turquoise as her stone.

Oh god this. The lineart alone is spectacular, clean, and perfectly varied in width for detail. I love the soft hatching in the dress folds, it's perfect as it is to say the fabric is gentle but perfect as well for color to give a bit more depth than shading but not just be "here's some lines." Glad to see the symbolism of the month too, can't wait for the colored version to see that turquoise pop out. Celtic touches are great. Love it love it love it.
