"May justice guide my blade, compassion fill my heart, and wisdom strengthen my spirit."

6x8 Inches, Watercolor on Illustration Board.
Hooray! My first painting for 2010! She was made as an example for an armor tutorial in my angel-themed art instruction book, Angelic Visions.

I like the armor practice! The wings and halo make me think of Joan of Arc.

I had no clue who that was till your comment. Now that I've looked her up, she sounds like a fun character! I'll have to add the books to my to-read pile.:) Thanks!

Would you feel comfortable submitting this image into the Battle Ready Womyn group? [link] Were a group dedicated to realistic/semi-realistic armoured women warriors and feel this artwork fits group qualifications. Hope you chose to contribute! (This would be best submitted into the Metal Ages folder).

I really, really like this one. I think you've nailed the values and the hues really well. I wish her mouth had been just a touch bigger on the left hand side as it feels a little off center at the moment, but it in no way detracts from what's a really lovely piece. Really sells that feeling of quiet contemplation.

I had much trouble with the nose/mouth area in the sketch and just couldn't make it sit right no matter what I did. I've tried tweaking it digitally and it still looks off no matter what I try. Either way, I'm glad it's still enjoyable despite her plastic surgery issues ;) Funny how these 'minor tutorial' images keep stealing the show!

Now it's on to the major archangels and the book cover. I'm so hyped!:D
