Butterflies and Lace by AngelaSasser Butterflies and Lace by AngelaSasser

Originally intended to be a journal header, but it came out too big. I enjoyed drawing this character again complete with her gorgeous hair:drool: No real deep meaning to this, I know, just an experiment with several things I've been wanting to try, lace, lingerie, celtic knotting, and art neauvou type inking. (I know I cant stpell neauvouXD). I will admit I used celtic knotting brushes in photoshop to accomplish the background but hey, it works! Don't worry, I WILL have something with some type of meaning in the future. Right now, I'm just enjoying having the time to experiment with mediums and subjects without having to worry about anything deeper.

I'm thinking I'll do a traditional color pencil version of this for you traditional art fans.:D

Experiment successful, by the look of things. Allow me to deliver a big , and another to the idea of a pencil-coloured version. That I'd like to see!

Really gorgeous job! I really love how her hair just flows and the bg really compliments the piece, it looks great but doesn't take away from the character.

I...am...GOING to comment on something, goddammit! >_< I really like the hair and how it's all....floooowy. And red - Aurora's hair was always gorgeous. Her pensive look with that butterfly on her hand is lovely, and it almost has a tragic feel to it....almost as if she's speaking to that butterfly, or listening to it.

*pets the knotwork* mmmm *__*

Its nice to see something without any meaning or intention aside from visuals. sometimes its refreshing to just loko and experience something simply because its a well done piece of art.

the celtic in the bg compliments it nicely, and i love how shes got her thumb against her forehead like that. its very natural, and very true to real body language =3

Thanks Guruu, that's quite the compliment^^ Sometimes I worry about my art being crap because there's no deeper intention in some piecesXD Weee! *dances with color pencils*

I like this, her hair is beautiful, and the colors go well together. I have to say, though, that the red on her face is a little distracting. But overall me like! Im just starting to use photoshop and coloring anime characters i still have yet to submit, but in a few weeks check it out sometime...Great job

Hmm...yeaah it's part of her character design so it's something I can't get rid of. Perhaps if I toned down the red there a bit do ya think that'd make it less distracting? Ohhh I know a great tutorial for new people to photoshop! It's here:
